partly because when you speak words you are also getting the sound from inside your head as well as what is coming out but let say you listen to yourself on a recording then you cut out the inside distortion of the sound.

i could no longer discover it appropriate now on the internet, yet somewhat I stumbled on an editorial some days in the past that stated this. If I undergo in suggestions appropriate, what the author replaced into claiming replaced into that our suggestions is tuned to sparkling out lots of the sound that we produce, on an identical time because it accepts sound from different sources "as that's" This prevents us from going deaf while we scream out loud! oftentimes, a valid sound produced with the intensity of a scream at one in each of those short distance (ear to mouth) can do an excellent form of harm. This gets prevented via the above reported technique! This however additionally ensures that our very own voice sounds distinctive while we hear it from a recorder. wish this enables!

OK, do this experiment now: hold your hands over your ears. Then say something. The voice you're now hearing is your "inner voice", and you are the only one that can hear that voice. When it mixes up with the voice that comes from your mouth, it becomes the voice you hear when you're talking. Others, however, can only hear the voice comming out of your mouth, wich then will turn out slightly different. This is olso the reason your voice sounds different on videos - the video can't tape your "inner voice".

This makes sense to me. When I talk, I sound different. I sound like I have a slightly deep voice. But when I heard myself on a recorded tape, I sounded younger, and softer than I thought.
It may not make sense to us , but everything is for a reason.

to complicate it, for singers, you can't "hear" what other people hear, and if you try to sing so that it sounds good to you, it sounds lousy to others. Therefore, you have to sound (appropriately) lousy to yourself so that you delight the audience with beauty of tone.
