Is there any postal guidelines as far as if they need to be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal

It doesnt matter which angle you place the numbers. Most cities have specified regulations be sure to check with them. Also be sure to have one number lit so it can be seen clearly at night

Just keep in mind you want an ambulance to save your life. Or you have won a large present they want to give you money, like that is going to happen, but you have the idea. I did not get into the cops or an old friend that wants to surprise you. It must be visible from the street.

I agree with Cowboydoc... As a firefighter it is VERY helpful to see the reflective blue or green signs that local fire departments sell for fundraisers. Painted number etc. are hard for us to see when responding at night or bad weather.

Numbers are not of your choice. The municipal authorities usually allot the numbers. it usually have a part with a ward number and then a sequential number. the sequential number may have an alpha extension sometimes.

They should be visible from the road for emergency people.
