As complicated as it may be....you are 18 weeks along regardless. You can be 18 weeks along, but the fetal age is 16 weeks along, but they count by 2 weeks ahead cause conception time varies greatly within 2 weeks time.

Because most women don't know the exact moment of conception the general rule of thumb for gestation is to count fourty weeks from the first day of your last period.

Ultrasounds also go by the same rule of thumb from my understanding.

Have a look at a website where they outline what happens to a growing fetus week by week, commencing from conception.

Every doctor I have ever talked to has counted the date of your missed period as the conception date, mine was almost a month earlier then that so I know it can be frustrating. I would suggest using their same (backward logic if you ask me) method on your ultrasound measurement.

Hope that helps. 15 weeks (would have been 19)

If you are 18 weeks, then you are 18 weeks. I don't know what logic you are using for this- where did you get that information?
