My doctor told me to take pills at least three days before my expected start date, but that doesn't work. In fact, it seems like nothing I do works for me. Every 28 days im dizzy, vomiting, and cramping really bad. What are some ways to avoid having such bad cramps that have me in tears. Is birth control an answer?

I go through the same thing. I've also been perscribed pain killers, but that gave me an ulcer. I have to take b.c's. I am on one now where I don't have a period for three months. With other pills I've tried I still get cramps, not as bad, but bad enough.
The only other options are surgery, which they won't do on someone who is child bearing age.

Birth control could be an answer. I have a friend who had severe cramps etc like you are describing and she went on it and now has very minimal cramps that are easily controlled with tylenol. Perhaps you should see a doctor. A physician could also provide with some strong painkillers.

Sounds like you have endemetriosis...a condition where uterine tissue builds up in the pelvic cavity instead of the uterus...it causes bad cramps and all the other symptoms you described...and usually the only thing that will relieve it is birth control...good luck

birth control helped me big time, I still get cramps but they are the week before i get my period, and also they are not nearly as painful. for me the best thing was a super hot shower, then the good old heating pad,

I am also a sufferer of HORRIBLE PMS! My best-friend told me to start a 50mg Vitamin B-6 daily. I've been taking it now for 6 weeks, and this last cycle I had was much easier for me. I believe they will get even better. This vitamin also helps stabilize moods.
