I'm 27 weeks pregnant. Two nights ago, I woke up from pain! For what seemed like an hour, but was probably only 15 minutes, ;) I felt a strange pain/pressure/cramp feeling all through my lower stomach area. After about 15 minutes it went away, but the next day I still had a little soreness on my left side like I had "pulled an ovary." Ha, I know that doesn't make sense, but hopefully it helps you to understand what I felt.

If I were worried about this then I'd call my OB, but I'm not. I'm just curious. I know my baby WAS transverse, head to the right. Do you think maybe that was just pain as he was changing positions? I'd love to have an ultrasound right now just to see! I'm not one who can feel through my belly and tell where the head is. The u/s tech told me at 20 weeks that my placenta is in the front. I assume that's why I can't feel those things.

Thanks :)

If the pain went away; I would think it was just a change of position. I had something like that a few weeks ago (I'm 26 weeks pregnant.) My side had a pain; but it did go away and when I did talk to my doctor; everything was perfectly fine.

I can't feel where the head is either.
(It's just natural to a doctor I guess.)

But ultimately; if the pain went away...I wouldn't worry about it.

Honey if this is your first baby, or even if it is not, it could just be your muscles stretching and moving to help accomodate the growing baby inside of you. I remember that and I asked my OB at the time and he said it was just stretching pains and that it was ok. If it was a one time thing like that and lasted that long it was in no way a contraction or anything. Mention it to your doc next visit which should be soon. Congrats and don't let the little things bother you. Enjoy being pregnant!

your muscels are getting ready to stretch and they do this though your last trimester. I am just over 26 weeks with my second pregnancy and my stomach is starting to do tha to. Your muscels cramp up because there are streching and getting ready for the labour in the months to come

im also around 27 weeks and even though the baby is bigger he/she is still smaller and is able to move around and get in different positions. there are times when i feel that "pressure" like pain and its normal. Babies also gotta get comfortable, like we do.

Good Luck !

It could be the baby was turning, but why have you not had an ultrasound yet? But if you tell your doctor, then you probably can have an ultrasound. However, get it checked out.

chances are it was only braxton hicks. they usually start at about 25 weeks. they are basically pratice contractions. but its always best to go to the doctors though to get it checked out
