dont worry about labeling your self or other people as butch or femme. i do not think that labels help people interact with each other. and i am sorry that you are having a hard time finding a gay guy that you are attracted to.

How funny to hear this. I went to a gay bar in Long Beach. I asked for a Coors Light. The bar tender looked at me like I was from another planet. I sat down and this really femme little skinny guy came flitting over and I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything. He got all pissed and said "Whatever, if you're not gay go to a straight bar".
Like I didn't know it was a gay bar.
I guess the advantage to acting flaming is other gays can tell you're gay.

I know what you mean. Neither femme or butch seem natural... I like the middle. WIth me people have to guess. Im neither femme or butch. Id rather date a butch guy then a femme guy though....

I don't like either... feminine gay guys tend to be very bitchy, which I can't stand. But, at the same time, butch ones who try to speak with a low voice and dress like lumberjacks are also a big turn-off for me. I'm more into laid-back, cool, "normal" guys. Besides, these days, not even straight guys are butch anymore (at least the ones living on metropolitan areas)... so when a gay guy tries to act butch, it just seems so unnatural.

Sometimes its more exciting when you have a butch/fem relationship. I don't want to have my woman have all the same qualities as I, Just as well as my woman sends me out to go mow the lawn and clean the back yard. If you both are exactly the same other stuff sometimes doesnt get done unless you hire a garderner. We complament each other and if just doesnt get boring.. She will paint my toes, and I will go pick up all the heavy things for her... She is soft and smells buitiful and I'm Butch..

I think it's a little...unwise to make judgements on people without getting to know them. As such, I think you're cutting your dating pool short unnecessarily. I don't like to call that "wrong", but judgemental might fit. THe thing is, people make way too big a deal over this. For one thing, it's not a dichotomy. It's kind of a form of gender expression that has infinite varieties; everyone's different. We're quick to categorize people into the stereotype and the antistereotype though. I think that's unfair to the former category, and may create unrealistic expectations of the latter.

That's a rediculous generalization...there are plenty of masculine gay men out there, they're just not walking down the street waving a rainbow flag.
