Can you help identify this indie movie, please ?

Question

I saw part of this film on TV but not the beginning or end: A young guy holds up a convenience store. In the store there is already (unconnected) a pro 'hit' man. The hold up goes wrong. The pro steps in and shoots. The hit man gives the young guy a ride. They stop (maybe at a used car lot). They eat and talk. Young guy keeps asking the pro questions. Pro shoots the young guy - all very dispassionate. Night scene. Mid-west sort of town. Set in the recent past.That was the only scene I saw - I'd love to see the whole thing. Sorta kinda Coen Brothers-ish.
