Buy him a gift next year? We bought a gift for my nephew and
he always has an attitude (he's only 11 Yrs. old). And I never
bought him a present for that reason, but this year I decided
to by one, and when I asked him a question, he had an attiude
with me and that remined me, why I didn't buy him any other year.
Now that he opened up his gift he was all excited for his gift that
we gave him. He is carring it around everywhere he goes. I decides next year, I would not give him a present. If you were me
and he did this to you would you do the same? He is my nephew
and I seriouly can't stand him or any of my family members that
act just like him.

Kids are kids.........

11 year old....most have attitudes....and from now until he is 18...the hormones again will play with his attitude like a roller coaster.(be thankful you're not raising him)

We as Aunts and Uncles need to try and enjoy the time we have with them and then remember how lucky we are that we get to see them and then they go home with their parents....I learned a long time ago my job as a Aunt was a lucky one....I got to be there to share and be the Cool one....not the parents. Its your choice however when you look at it in this perspective life is so much simpler and so much more fun.

The parents live with the day to day stuff...........

As far as the gifts and the giving......Didn't it give you a smile to see him carrying it all around......and see his excitement....:O)
That's the true reason for gift giving.

you reminded me....the first year I bought gifts for the nieces and nephews I got repaid back when I had children.....playdough...lol....my sister had white carpet...she wanted to kill me....the kids however loved it.
As a Aunt....I Rock!
As a Mother......I pave the rocks and rules....lol

Best wishes......

most 11 year olds develop this attitude, you cant deny him a gift just because hes going through the 'attitude' time in his life.

he'll grow up soon and become grateful for what he gets hopeully.

Soul searching helps... why do you buy a gift for someone? I buy a gift because I care about that person.... I don't buy gifts for people I don't care about.... And I don't spend time with them either...

Yeah, I probably would. I know my neices are not always appreciative when we get them something but the season also about the spirit of giving. If you think he's spoiled give him something that he needs rather than wants next year..
