Yes, there are many songs that you can do. But it won't have the same tuning like on the recording because you'll be doing them in a different key. I recommend that you learn a C chord, a G chord, and a hard one, the F chord. With all them chords, you can play thousands of songs. But to answer you question, you can play something by Lynyrd Skynyrd....Sweet Home Alabama. Again it's not in the key that they play it in, but it starts with E, D, then A. Try it. The original song is D, C, and G, with an F in one place. Playing music is just playing chords in a particular pattern. You say you're slow....I doubt that. I say if you practice more and more, you'll be surprised how good you'll become. Eventually, as you learn more chords, and your ear develops, you'll be able to play songs by ear.
