Put her bags out by the curb and tell her you'll call her a cab. Or!

I could understand part of her problem if she is a working wife.
If she is a stay at home wife there is no excuse for running a filthy household. Maybe she thinks all you just sit around and do nothing to help so why should she. My granddaughter was a slob also as she would drop things in the middle of the floor, leave a big mess to clean up and etc. I would pick up her things and throw them in the garbage. When she asked where such & such was, I would tell her in the garbage since she threw it down or left a mess. It broke her habit quick.

If she is home all day there is no excuse unless she is ill could she possible be depressed. If she is working full time if so you need to share the load tell her OK I will do bathrooms take out the trash and vacuum. You do the kitchen the floors and the bedroom we will both do the laundry You wash and I will put away. Women are not made to be slaves If you have children she probably has her hands full too. why don't you offer to watch the kids or take them some where while she cleans.

If she is truly lazy, that's a character problem that will prevail in lots of other areas of your lives, not just housekeeping. You're fighting a losing battle then. If she just hates housekeeping, but stays busy and fit, and is a good wife to you, then hire a housekeeper to clean. I hate cleaning house, and have someone once a week come in and clean. Once your wife doesn't have those dirty toilets hanging over her head, you may discover a new, happier woman who can focus on YOU, not dirty floors!

try to motivate her by cleaning up and making a big deal out of it.
say stuff like

"wow! i feel so glad that i just cleaned this! now i can relax and feel good about myself and my house."

that will definatly get her to listen at the least.

Log off here and help her. Some people don't like to work alone, so if you help out and clean the same time she does, more will get done.

Tell her that she needs to do her share. It's no big deal, I;m sure she know's it already. She's just getting away with it because you haven't specifically said anything yet.

Ok I won't get down, tell her to go to flylady.net and join it is free, but I will advise that you tell her if she wants to buy something to help her around the house you are in agreement for her to do so

While she's 'just sitting', do all the chores and clean the house. If she is ever going to get off her butt and clean...that will do it. Cause she doesn't want to be shown up by you! If she doesn't, she never will.

Learn to live with it or get rid of her. People rarely change and if they ever do it isn't until they absolutely have to. I doubt if keeping you means she has to do her share she will do her share.
