Is this a bait for something? We do have more black QBs now than ever(I think). Hmm...having lived in America I would say that while we have gone far for racial equality, that NFL QBs being majority white are an after effect of many not being considered for QB as far back as little league ball. The after effects of some racism, I think. Still, we do see a few more TEs, and a few more RBs who are white than were visible ten years ago. So.......racial stereotypes are now, as they have been incorrect.
Forbidding injury, I think Vince Young will have a great career. Why? Because he is black so he is a good runner and all that crap....no he is a great athlete, no doubt, but he has a great vision of the field and for the game. I think most football fans like to think of the old Monday night game where Ronald Reagan and John Lennon are talking football as an example of how we see the game.....not the black or the white or the liberal and conservative, but athletes-outstanding athletes who overcome obstacles, and perhaps inspire us to do so in our own lives.

First of all baseball is not a contact sport. The NFL has made great strides to protect the QB. I personally think they are protected a little too much, but in terms of making the rules more stringent? The QB is playing a game of aggression. How can you make a sack if you can's touch him. Concussions are significantly down since the NFL has changed their rules and for me f you can protect someone within reason it is a good rule.

I never heard so much crap in most of your answers.
With the extremely little that I have experienced, I could probably write SEVERAL BOOKS on this topic. I’ll settle for this tome.
I’m quite certain that YOU ALL KNOW that the biggest problem STILL in America today is OUR DENIAL of the existence AND practice of racism, prejudice and the belief in STEREOTYPES.
All of those same things exist in pro football and basketball as well as other pro sports.
The same is also true all the way down to Peewee ball.
Most owners, GMs and coaches seem to get past that crap and pick the BEST PLAYER at the position.
ALL OF US have been so thoroughly programmed by those before us with all that crap about stereotypes and ethnicity to think that certain ethnic groups excel at certain tasks that others cannot.
I’ll let you all think of players in certain positions that you know of and appreciate that DON’T fit the stereotype of that position. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF.
There is some, but VERY LITTLE TRUTH IN STEREOTYPES. Most of what we find to be true of stereotypes, we all were programmed to MAKE IT THAT WAY; and no matter how much we protest, we ALL still have those same thoughts DEEP in our minds to this day.
Especially so when it comes to black or white.
Some of us still look on some player’s ethnicity as being the reason why they are as good or bad as they are at that position.
No one seems to care if an O or DLineman is black, white, Hispanic, Samoan, Irish et al; just that he does his job well and hopefully, better than the opponent.
Nobody seems to care what ethnicity the LBs, DBs, Safeties, PKs, Punters and special teamers are; just that they get the job done.
Until there is more ethnic diversity and or a change in the mentality of ownership there won’t be much change in the ethnic diversity of GMs, coaching staffers and players. We will continue to see more or the same. i.e. white owners; white GMs; white head coaches; white QBs; black RBs and WRs and we’ll keep asking the same question that this questioner asked and the rest of us will continue on with OUR DENIAL.
Until there is a change in the mentality of ALL individuals in America, nay, the WORLD, and parity from ownership on down, at least in pro football we’ll NEVER just look on each player, each coach, each GM as being good or bad or mediocre at his job.

there is no logical answer for a question like that. It is what it is, if that was the case, why do black quarterbacks are the better running quarterback....it makes no sense, it is what it is....color has nothing to do with it at all..

cause its a less athletic position. a pocket passer can make it in the NFL, but theres no way C. Palmer or P. Manning would be able to run a slant route, make the catch and then make a DB miss to get into the end zone...but theyre really good at dropping back, reading the D and firing a pass off...

Does it matter? Just as long as the player is good for the role it doesn't matter what their skin colour is just as long as they can play it well.
