Only if theyre overly sensitive. I would be irate if called a racist, but thats only because Ive made a living out of combating racism in all forms (particularly Klansmen and Nazi types, I despise them above all forms of life except child molesters or rapists, some of which overlap in terminology).

I call my white homies crackers all the time, its nothing to get angry about. I can assure you that a person using such terminology intending to spread racist sentiments would most assuredly offend me, but not to the point that I would even get upset about it.

There is a significant difference in redneck racism and inner city racism (where most minorities hate white people, such as in Little Rock), because redneck racism stems from the belief that someone is actually inferior based on their race. Inner city racism only stems from anger. Both are the result of ignorant upbringing, as are all forms of prejudice.

(I might should note that Im as white as a person can get, Dubbs up!!)

Hello, Ironically many white people get offended with their own for saying racial slurs or jokes. If you utter a racial slur to a particular member of that race you'll likely as not be told to go do something nasty with your mother or get a fist in the face and it ends there. Some white people will jump on the band wagon, give you lecture, ostracize or report you to management, the courts etc. Now because whites have been the dominant race as far as numbers and control go over the last 3 or 4 centuries, we are not as sensitive to racial remarks... rather like me calling a prominent rocket scientist or university professor a moron... Honky came around in the 40's in NY. Some of the white men, looking for that exotic taste of brown sugar on the weekends used to cruise into the black neighborhoods tooting their car horns to get the attention of the prostitutes. Cheers, Michael Kelly

Nope, can't think of any racist rant that would offend me. Redneck, honkey, etc... none seem offensive to me but it takes a lot to offend me.

To upset me... call me a liar. I never lie, even on the net. I know its hard to tell truth from lie on the net but all I can say is that I swear I never lie. It is very dishonerable.

I get tired of being called ignorant because some people don't agree with what I think about other types of people. If I had a dollar for every time I've being called ignorant... it gets tiring.

yeah, but i think to understand the power behind some words, one must go back in time.

hate words that are used to offend a race was done so when people were being lynched or tortured or oppressed just because of their race.

like calling semites(jews) the "k" word.

or think about calling italians the "d" word.

or the irish the "m" word.

what was happening to these people when these words were being said about them?

Why in the world would you be interested?

All that anyone needs to understand is that if you treat everyone with equal respect, slurs don't get used. And isn't that a better starting point?

I was once offended when a hawaiian called me a howli- I know I spelled that wrong but I really don't care. Something about this guy saying it to me really got under my skin. I was called pedophile bait once and that upset me but I don't think that was because of my skin color.

Some white people get offended if they are called "White Supremacists", or just plain "racist", especially in today's overly minority-sensitive culture, no white person wants that stigma.

Actually, any word that might hurt ANYONE would be offensive to me (white guy). Of course, the "N" word is really bad.

If it's said with hate then words do offend, like cracker or honky, or white trash.

It's not so much what is said, as it is the tone in which it is said. I don't know...'guero'/'guera'. Depends on who's saying it and how well I know them, though.
