Well you probably have a hormone inbalance like me. My cycle skips sometimes between 3 -4 months before it comes on it's own, once it skipped 6 months. Birth Control can regulate your cycles. Have you considered that you might be PRE-menopausal?
See a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE). If are not seeing an RE and your OB/GYN does not have the facilities to conduct these routine tests, you should seriously consider switching to a doctor who does.
Are you sure your not pregnant?
Do you have two or more of the following pregnancy symptoms.
Symtoms of pregnancy: (not in any particular order)
missed cycle (some women continue to have spotting)
nausea (any time of day, not just morning sickness)
dizziness
fatigue
increased vaginal discharge (leukorrhea)
constant urination (especially getting up alot at night)
tender breasts
darkened aereolas
food cravings (food, & non-food items such as dirt or styro-foam)
food aversions
unability to lay on tummy due to soreness of the abdomen
cramping in the abdominal area
swelling (water retention)
heigtened sense of smell
linea negra (a line that appears down the middle of your abdomen from right beneath your breasts to your pelvis, it gets darkers as the hormones increase in your body)
Hope this helps!

When I was 17 my period didn't come for a month and a half. My mother thought I was pregnant so she took me to the doctors office to see what was wrong with me, we found out that it was stress related. Whether it is school or work or whatever stresses you out it can cause you to miss your period. So I wouldn't really worry too much. And if you are sexually active (Because I don't know how late you are) I would retake the test in about a week if you haven't started yet.

Stress is one of the leading causes for late periods. You may also be trying to switch cycles (normal) and it's OK to skip a period every now and again as long as it's just that every now and again. If you are absolutely positive that your not pregnant, then I would not worry. If you skip your period next month you may want to go see your doctor to make sure nothing is going on that needs tending to. I hope this answers your question.

Don't worry, it is normal in the first few years to not have your period for long amounts of time- mine once stopped for half a year, but it came back later.

It could be stress. Sometimes that causes periods to come late or not at all.

Could be stress or strenuous exercise or something. Your period is a constant changing thing, the days you start usually vary... That's normal

this can be caused by multipul things stress, young age, new exersice routine(running or exersising more), new diet etc if you are worried about it talk to your mom or dad or a really cool aunt or even your sisterit may seem akward but in the end you will feel better and it may be easier to talk to your mom (or dad or aunt or sister) about other subjects 2

If you are not on any type of birth control, you could just be irregular. It's not uncommon, but it could be something nasty, especially if you are normally pretty regular. It's best to talk to your family doctor or OBGYN and have them run some tests.

if you've had an changes lately in eating habits or excercise it could be one of the results. If you've recently went off birth control this could happen also.
