Question for the ladies with long hair?

If women were meant to have their hair in french plaits why wasn't they born with 3 arms..I can't do my own neatly can you?

It takes practice. My best advice is to comb each section of hair before adding it to the braid... that helps avoid those bumps and bubbles sticking out. Also, if it's only slightly messy, you can use a chopstick or finger to push the messy bits under the rest of the braid, and nobody will ever know it's not perfect. I used to practice french braiding my hair while I was watching tv... then off to the restroom to check it in the mirror during the commercial break. Trust me, if you keep working at it, it becomes very easy... just like most anything else. I eventually got to the point where I could braid it perfectly every time.

My hair is almost long enough to tuck in to my jeans. It's as dry as straw, from being out in the shitty weather all the time, and my roots need doing! I can't get a comb through it at the end of the day and I have 'hat hair' ALL the time. The only time I ever got my hair into a reasonable french plait, I looked like a proper slap head and couldn't fit my riding hat comfortably on my head! I just give up!!!!...

yes I can do french plaits in my hair - with two hands - I find it easier to do if I sit in an arm chair so I can rest my elbows now and then. Also I find it turns out alot neater if I have wet hair as well.
Get yourself one of those tiny brushes that come with little girls dolls (like the ones that come with Bratz dolls), its small enough to brush each section as you put it into the braid to help keep it neater.

Good question. You get use to it if you do it every night. Yes mine is neat but I do it nightly. Have been for years.
