If you think the friendship won't work, "buying your way into trying to make it work" will make you miserable and the people will see right through you. Keep the gifts for yourself if it's something you can use, want, or need (always buy something you would want yourself, in case something like this situation comes up). If you don't want them, go get your money back and let this be "a lesson learned".

If you dont like these ppl or freinds I wouldnt give the gifts. Actually I was put through a situation like that before i was goin to buy a gift for my friend but know i dont think she deserves it because she said eversince i entered in the 6th grade i have been acting like a jerk and i got mad so i decided not put $$ in the garbage and 150.00 is a lot of money you should reallly think before you buy an item for someone presents doesnt buy friendship you never know they mite just use you

Maybe a card would have been better! A small token like a plant or flower. Expensive gifts smack of desperation. How about a small stuffed animal that seems to match the personality of the person to whom it is meant for.
You could use those items as an "open" for conversation. I just don't think the expensive items are a good bet for people you hardly know. If you really want to show them you like them, then bake something for them and share it!

Since you've made the first bold step in getting Christmas gifts for them, go ahead and hand the gifts to them. This would kick-start your relationship. Good luck!

Christmas is the season for giving, so if you went out and bought those gifts for that purpose it'd be a shame to only go halfway, huh? do what ya gotta do!

No I wouldn't,why would you spend so much money on people that are not even your friends?, it will seem that you are just trying to buy friendship and don't be so down on yourself real friends will come along it takes time to build friendships and money is not the way to do it.

It is your choice, it might be a starting point to talk.
The dollar amount is not what is important. Just a little something to open up conversation.
