I just read that you can actually climb the stairs into her crown and 30 people can fit at one time...

I think that is so wicked...

Yes, I've been there. I climbed it back in the late 50's. Very cool.

I've been, didn't climb the stairs though. It was a very long line. You take a ferry out to the Island that it is on. You get the best view from farther away. Once you get so close you have to look up at her and your eye just can't grasp the magnitude of her.

Been to New York five years ago, and seen the Statue of Liberty. It was fantastic view from the top.

I have climbed up thru it (to the crown) (I think you used to be able to get into the lantern itself but it was a very long time ago)

It's really pretty impressive

yeah i lived in ny my whole life. when u get to the top of the stairs at the highest point the stairs are so narrow only a child could really fit. but its absolutely huge. really cool.

Yes, not that close. I spent two days in NYC, I missed the ferry. There is a lot of history in Ellis Island. It must be a great experience walk in there.
