My cycle is a bit irregular, but has been 27-29 days consistently. I had a miscarriage in october and my cycle was 35 days in length (that month) due to low hormone. The next cycle was again 34 days in in length. This month, the cycle is now 41 days; it has never in my life been that long. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I have some pregnancy symptoms, but not all. What are the chances this is a false negative due to low hormone again???

And I did go to my doctor last week, she said that i should either be getting a positive pregnancy test or my period in 48 hours and neither happened!

What should I do?

Just act as if you are pregnant until you find out for sure that you are not. Don't drink or do any drugs. Take care of yourself and keep hydrated. You'll find out soon enough! Low hormone can be the reason you aren't seeing a positive result. Take a test again in another 3-4 days (and get a double pack to save $). Your hormone is suppose to go up quite a bit with in that time frame. Also, you might want to try a different brand of pregnancy test. Some brands are not quite as sensitive as others. Get an early detection test that says something like "know 5 days sooner".

I say you should call your doc and try to get some advice about what to do. It could take a few more months for your cycles to get back to normal after that miscarriage.

If you want to know what is happening with your cycles, go to your library and check out "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." The techniques in that book will help you to know if/when you are ovulating, so then you'll know when to expect your period. But as for this cycle, I guess all you can do is try to get advice from your doc and wait it out.

Good luck!

You may just be too soon to tell by a pregnancy test. Take another one in a couple of weeks. But, being stressed will prolong your period as well. My friend is almost a month late and has taken 2 tests and still negative.. Good luck!!

Usually a late period is caused by not ovulating. If your tests are negative that could be the reason. Or you may have ovulated really late in your cycle
I would ask for a blood test to make sure.

wait a week & take another test if still no period. Could be that the hormone isn't registering with the test yet, or maybe you're just worring too much.
