at some point after you beat the solar cave area, you will see a spinda in the town square. talk to him to learn about a mirage pokemon
go to the hill of the anceints, by getting to the end of the dungeon, "great canyon" - a scene will occur that has you talking to xatu about the clear wing spinda gave you. he'll open the area "fiery field"
when you go to fiery field and beat entei, entei will open lightning field. when you beat raikou, he'll open northwind field. when you beat suicune, that'll open mt faraway. go to mt faraway and RECRUIT (not just beat) Ho-oh
a few days later, you will see a scene with blastoise and charizard in some cave. a few days after THAT, those two will crawl into town, crying about being beaten by something in western cave. a cave that you can now visit - in the hopes of recruiting mewtwo
