I am 13 and my mom says that too. The only makeup she actually allows is lip gloss. Unless you have something that can really take away all the makeup, you should not be wearing that much. Washing your face is not enough. Most of the makeup stays there and if it is not all washed out, when you grow older, your pores will grow bigger and capture dirty stuff. Then your face will have black dots on them and I don't think they are called blackheads. This applies to foundation, blush, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. Lip gloss I'm allowed to wear because it is easy to wipe off. Mascara is a different problem. It could ruin your eyesight when you grow older. I rarely use mascara and eyeshadow; I only use it at parties or performances. My mom always says, "Why do you think I have such good skin? It's because I didn't use makeup at your age." Anyway, I hope my advice is helpful!

Yes, it can ruin your skin if you wear too much. I'm 13 also and I only wear lip gloss and mascara. I don't know if your eyes can become black, but I think so and you can get more wrinkles and rashes and red spots when you get a little older. This is because your skin isn't open to oxygen. You shouldn't wear blush or eyeshadow or eyeliner. If you got to, because your friends do or you think you're ugly (everyone's pretty, so you shouldn't think so.) then wash your face and put cream on it before using any makeup. Stay with natural colours for makeup.

hey! You don't need foundation! It isn't the best for your skin. But if you want to glow, apply mosturizer after you wash your face when it is still wet. Don't worry about the other stuff. Mascara is great, but some formulas and waterpfoof ones really dry lashes. Once a week, coat you lashes in Vaseline and go to bed. Next morning you lashes will be super lush! And make sure you use sunscreen on your face and neck. This will really prevent wrinkles when you get older! And for eyeshadow, natural is sexy for school; for night parties, more colors are fun!! Blusher is fine for your skin, but if you did like I mentioned above with the mosturizer, you won't ned it!

Depends.
I think the wearing mascara, blush, eyeshadow and lipgloss couldn't hurt.
But wearing foundation can make a difference after a while, and always be careful putting on eyeliner.
But that's ALOT of make-up for somebody that's 13. I am 13 and I have only worn make-up a couple of times in my life, and only to do plays and dance recitals (dance when I was little) so you should probably cut down on the amount of make-up.

Do some research on line about makeup read up on ingredients and see how make up is made.
It's important to look after your skin and be aware of the different skin care products out there that you can use to look after your skin.
Makeup is for enhancing a person's looks and it doesn't make one happier on the outside as what's really going on in the inside.
I would suggest with starting with skin care and then once you know about how to take care of your skin then you will be ready for wearing more makeup.
Mascara and lip gloss are essentially enough for someone your age. Some makeup can be essentially bad for your skin and it's wise to listen to mum.
She's hardly wearing any makeup.

The reason is she probably takes care of her skin enough so that she doesn't have to hide behind the makeup. I can remember when I was around your age I had skin just like that but with freckles.
I didn't wear much makeup until I was 16/17 years if age. I wore very little and not like the girls are wearing today. The natural look was in and it's looks like it's making a come back again.

Make-up will not ruin your skin unless you are using some with harsh ingredients in them. Make-up is meant to enhance our features. The only thing that will ruin your skin without a shadow of a doubt is the sun if you don't wear at least SPF 15 every single day, 365 days a year, even in the winter. My mom has done this since she was in her 20's. She is now 60 and she doesn't look any older then 40.

it think its true i've been told that often and i'm not 13 but at 13 all the make-up u use is too much ,try using just foundation,a lipgloss and an eyeliner if you really want to go far but you're still young and your beauty is not fully out yet and you don't have blemishes to hide so why cover your natural glow now, you'll have a lot of time to use make -up and then it won't be optional it would be necessary especially if you have spots so just chill on the make-up and just let your natural look shine out,i'm sure you look fabulous.take care

I think the number one rule is to keep your face clean. At your age it is not the wisest choice to wear foundation due to puberty and clogging of the pores. You probably don't even need it.
Stick with the gloss and mascara until you are older.
The natural look is always best.
I am 32 now and I look like I am 20. I still don't wear that stuff.
Save your money and buy yourself an outfit! :)
