(I'm assuming NFL rules here... in college, for instance, the defensive team would get two points.)

Let me add that in National Federation of High School Football rules which 48 states use, once the defense recovers a PAT the ball is whistled dead and the play is over. Remember this rule is for the extra point only.

In college ball the defending team would get TWO points.
I don't think they have that rule in the NFL
