Yea, they are scary, I never had a problem when I was a kid with clowns but my nieces were horrified, then once I saw Stephen Kings "It" with the clown "Pennywise", it shed a whole new light on clowns..lol I dont like them.

that's one of the best questions I've ever seen....you know, alot of people are REALLY scared from clowns...and the reason behind that....(from my side), is that they are always acting funny, and stupid, while they must be one of the smartest (which they are to make all the people laugh), or they maybe evil, and hiding their true identity by wearing a face full of fake smiles, even though they are crying.....
they stand for the poor people, with the smile on, no matter what's going on deep inside them...
still, in movies and cartoons, like Batman, there is this evil clown which clearly explains what am saying, and shows how evil he might be, even with his looks..
i feel pity them....but never scared of them

It's not natural to be that happy. Something is wrong with clowns. If there not in costume and being infectiously happy, they aren't scary at all, but when they are. Whoo, look out.

No, clowns are scary. Movies, like "Poltergeist" and "Thing" - reinforce how scary clowns can be.

You're scared for good reason. They're not just for show. I actually have one that lives under my bed, I'm not kidding. Right as I'm falling asleep, it pops up this little jack-in-the-box, with music and everything. The worst part is, NO ONE BELIVES ME!!! As soon as my mom comes into the room, it's gone. There's nothing I can do!!! Soon, I'm just going to have to call an exterminator.
