Hi everyone and Happy Christmas!
Ok, I got a new laptop for Christmas. I tried to install the cables that I previously used for Tesco broadband, but the modem kept flashing and the tech support said I needed a new set up disk, which is on it's way.
In the meantime, it appears to have connected with something called Lynksys, on its own.
The top of the page says Internet Explorer provided by Tesco, and I can get my Tesco email on Outlook, but I am not sure what this means. I thought you needed something called a router?
Am I connected to Tesco.net, my provider? and if so, how? Is it because my neighbours have wireless, and if so, does it mean they are on Tesco too, or does my laptop pick up a signal of some sort from Tesco?
Can anyone else charge me for this wireless connection, and should I be paying, and can my neighbours tell I am using it?
Sorry to be SOOOOO stupid, I just don't have a clue about these things. Thanks
Wishing you all the very best for 2007!
