Long answer. A snow crystal is made up of a hexagonal prism which includes two hexagonal "basal" faces and six rectangular "prism" faces. This is the very basic beginning of a snowflake. If the snow crystals reach full development, they will form the classic snowflake, which has six corners or also known as six arms, not sides. ~A~

depends on how you would define a "side". a snowflake is a unique ice crystal, each with its own unique shape. this gives limitless possibilities to a "side"
