I used one for many years. Found it comfortable and easy to use. The trick is remembering to insert it before things get sexually tense, otherwise, it has been my experience that in the heat of things, you will find yourself not wishing to interrupt the moment while you run into the bathroom to insert your diaphragm. It best to use it with spermicidal jelly. You go to your gynecologist to be fitted and instructed on insertion.

DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM.

No matter what precautions you take, BF needs to keep putting his little buddy in a wetsuit before sending him down into your depths. This needs to be non negotiable.

Even if diaphragms didn't slip occasionally, even if you had an implant or were on the pill...heck, even if you were on all of these PLUS tubal ligation....he needs to use a condom for your protection.

He'll play the guilt game about sensation, etc. Ask him what he thinks of the sensation he gets with no sex whatsoever.

Your health and safety are too important to risk for Mr. Sensation.

It was OK. I thought it was a bit of a bother to insert and I didn't like that I had to keep it inserted for six hours after sex.

However, it will provide NO protection against HIV or other STIs like a condom will.

Also if you gain or lose weight you'll need to have seen for a re-fitting.

I used one, you have to be taught to get them in, they are a bit fiddly at first and you have to be fitted by a trained family planning nurse as they are all different sizes (as we are inside). It was ok, but it was a bit clinical as you had to put it in along with spermicide etc so lack of sponteneity. Also it wont protect against STIs. I didnt like it that much to be honest but you might get on with it better

I USED ONE MANY, MANY YRS. AGO. IF YOU PLACE IT RIGHT YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW IT'S IN. YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO USE A SPERMICIDE, MESSY UGK. YOU'LL KEEP IT IN FOR 24 HRS & EVERYTHING WILL LEAK OUT. ALL IN ALL IT'S AN OK FORM OF BC. ON THE OTHER HAND IT DOES NOTHING TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF STD'S, INCLUDING HIV. SO UNLESS YOU BOTH GET HIV TESTS, & YOU'ER SURE HE'S NOT CHEATING I'D STICK TO THE COMDOMS.

PS. I'M 52 YRS OLD AND I MAKE MY BOYFRIEND USE A COMDOM UNTILL HE GETS TESTED FOR HIV & OTHER STDS & HE MAKES THE COMMITMENT OF BEING EXCLUSIVE.
