Does anyone have experience opening an RO (Representative Office) in China for their company? Could you outline the general process and/or send some useful links?

You need to provide more information about the kind of company you wish to open up.. Many ROs have JV (Joint Ventures) pending.. Depending on your industry, Id say avoid the JV unless you have super excellent relations that are PROVEN and tempered with time.. Otherwise, do a wholly owned.. ROs have no sac, no power, you cant make profits in China, nor can you hire your own staff (min. of labour does it for you ) You can find a list of all the Chinese government sites at http://allthingschina.com (MOFTEC, MOL, PSB, Etc.. )
