It really depends on your experience as to which one you will prefer. FedEx has always given me good service (although I saw one of their drivers throw a box down at my neighbor's door). UPS delivers some of my packages crushed and halfway open. FedEx is certainly my choice. I am sure some people have had the opposite experience, and make UPS their choice.

UPS! FedEx used to transfer packages from one truck to another in front of our shop. I kept thinking someone was out front slamming a door to a car, but it was the FedEx guys throwing packages from one truck to another. I can only imagine the condition of the contents of each package.
Besides that UPS drivers are smarter. One of the FedEx guys came to our shop, said he couldn't open his hood to his truck. He said he couldn't reach the lever under the hood, we asked if he pulled the lever in the cab first. He said there isn't one. My boss and I looked at each other like "whats this guy talking about?" I reached in and pulled the "hood" lever. It turns out the driver had never fully closed his hood, he was driving everywhere with just the safety catch holding the hood closed.
I'm sorry I could go on and on about FedEx, 'nuff said'

Depends on where you live. Here in Chico we have a huge UPS distribution center and a tiny office for FedEx. Guess which is better? I just ordered an item from Amazon with the free shipping. They told me the date it would be delivered and it arrived exactly on time via UPS.

FedEx dating is much better than UPS dating.
In FedEx dating, you absolutely positively have to be there overnight. In UPS dating, you basically just find out what brown can do for you.
Think about it.

I work for a company that sends tons of pkgs out each day. FedEx always gets them there UPS loses them, they get wet, they are never on time. Athough they are more expensive and tend to be rude when you need help.
