Mixture of both, but on the whole I'd go for not so good - my grandma passed away, I got bullied at work so I had to take a new job, but - got promoted when looking for a new job. Almost all my friends went away travelling, so I'm now by myself nearly all the time which is a bit depressing, but - had an excellent holiday in Africa on safari, and being alone so much has helped my to (tearfully) decide, not to let another year just pass me by without taking some action to find somebody to love.
So, bad year, with good bits around the edges.

Mixed. Mostly pretty crappy, but it's made the good stuff all the better.
On the down side
- I had Winter Vomiting Virus New Years Eve and have never been so sick in my life.
- My contract for my last job finished in March and I've only just started a new job in the past three weeks. This has meant I've been living on benefits and the goodwill of my family which has been frustrating and done nothing for my confidence or self-esteem. AND they messed up at my local job centre and didn't give me any money at all for two months.
- I'm currently homeless and living in a hostel during the working week until my flat is sorted and I don't know when that's going to be (the irony is that my job is housing-related).
- My poor 20-year old recumbent is dying a slow death from metal fatigue. I want another recumbent but a decent one costs over £1200, so I need to make it last a couple of years until I can afford to replace it.
- Bloody Rupert Murdoch bought "Lost" and I don't get Sky.
On the upside
- My new job is well paid with good prospects and is something I really want to do and in an area I really want to live in. It's interesting and my colleagues are all very friendly.
- I got an i-pod for my birthday and think it was the best present ever.
- I've met up with three people I haven't seen for ages and managed to see my best friend about four times (we live on opposite sides of the country, so I normally see her twice if I'm lucky).

The worst year of my life so far!
January had abcess in mouth
february had severe sinus infection due to tooth being pulled and bridge put in which led to sinus surgery
april-Got immune disease called Graves disease which enlarged my thyroid gland into a goiter and made me lose 2 stone in weight suddenly
may-got thyroid eye disease as a result of the Graves disease
July had thyroid removed was in intensive care for 3 days and in hospital 3 weeks.
August eye disease got worse and was put on massive loads of steroids
september-December still suffering with eye disease, may lose my sight and am putting on weight and losing my hair as have been on steroids so long.
The steroids are not working so am about to start Radiotherapy.
Also my best friend got made redundant from her job working with me!
So Im guessing 2007 has GOT to be better right????

it wouldn't say good or bad. more like it was okay. nothing special happened in 2006 for me, at university studying for my degree. as i am in my final year, 2007 however is going to be really important because that is when during the summer i hope to graduate and get my BA in media arts and journalism

Here comes the bummer answer... It's been a little on the sad side for my family. In '05 we lost my father to a spinal infraction stroke. Our family was on the road to healing from this loss, but in July, one of my brothers took his own life due to the depression of losing our father the year before. All I can say is to be there for your loved ones in times of need, and tell your family and friends how much you love them. You never know when tragedy will strike. Live and love like every day is your last.
