How about having BCS #1 play BCS #4 and BCS #2 play BCS #3 then use the ensuing bcs rankings to determine who plays in the championship game?

Well, that's a compromise that would allow them to keep making their obscene amounts of money off bowl games. It's more realistic than a playoff, but I'm an optimist so I say, why not a playoff??

its really the best scenario, ive been campaigning for that ( with my football buddies) for years...usually any kind of controversy doesnt extend beyond the top 4 any way so each team can earn their right to the title...for example, both MI and FL would have a shot at the title. then no matter who won, there wouldnt be any discussion. it would be plain and simple who the champion was!!! even if the #4 team won...they would have beaten the #1 and #2/#3 teams, so they deserve the title even if they had a loss or two in the regular season...

Bad Idea, I want to have a 16 team playoff. But if you want to keep the bowls. Just have the games like they are right now and have the winner of two bowls who are top 4 teams have a plus one. So lets say the winner of the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl play in the national championship game.

every other college divisions have a playoff system...div I should not be standing alone...school is out what is another several weeks to play to determine the true champion of college football in Div I. TV would love it, companies would make alot of money on the commercials, the teams involved would get more more for the universities, it would finally shut everyone up....take the extra step and quit talking about it...JUST DO IT...

the winners of the 4 major bowls-theRose,Orange Sugar and Fiesta would be the top 4 BCS teams and battle for the title.
