Is recycling earth friendly?

Now if you had put an hyphen between earth and friendly it would be quite a different question.

Not really.

It would seem that some folks out there would lead you to believe that today we are having issues with our trash. They would like you to believe that we have no place left to put it and that we are running out of resources.

It couldn't be farther from the truth. The more we learn about this great green earth the more we find that our preconceived notions are not only out of whack but totally wrong.

We are using more oil, we are finding more oil. We are finding better ways to use our oil supply and better ways to extract it.

We are finding that recycling of paper is not cost effective nor is it really earth friendly. The only places that we see problems on earth with deforestation is places were the forests are not privately owned or where the governments are involved.

The recycling of most of our day to day goods in America is counter productive and costs us more that just making more goods. Case and point being that when the recycling of goods is economically sound there will be money in it. Today most if not all of the recycling programs are tax funded. So you are paying for it because the free market will not support it.
