I had a very quiet day at home. Prior to that, I had worked very hard preparing the church for Midnight Mass, both helping to set up the altar and decorations, lending a hand with a community meal program, and working with the church music. I'm usually so wiped out after the midnight service each year that Christmas Day is a serene, stay-at-home kind of day in which nothing much happens. Nobody's got the energy after the midnight service and the half-dozen or more Masses that are held before it.

Well I LOVE waking up Christmas morning to open presents, I still get excited like a kid even though I am 34 and have a 12 year old son. I don't usually get a lot of presents myself but I love to watch my son open his it is just as exciting. So when I got up and no one else was awake. I woke up my boyfriend and then went in my son's room to wake him as well..lol After we opened presents and cleaned up the mess, I made a big breakfast before my son went to his dad's for the day. After that we lounged around until it was time to go to my mom's house where we hung out, opened more presents ( didn't know I was going to have any since we opened presents with my family on christmas eve) and ate christmas dinner. After all that, my boyfriend and I went to the movies to see "Blood Diamond" and sat next to a loud couple..lol It was a great day! :)

After cooking a nine country Christmas eve buffet, I was exhausted and slept til 3pm on Christmas. I then went with my fiance to my sisters house. He proceeded to tip a few glasses of Christmas cheer and nearly burnt her house down putting Christmas wrap in the fireplace. He then decided to help me clean up dishes and started loading them into a cubboard he mistook for the dishwasher. After that we came home and he clogged the toilet and flooded the bathroom. Finally he went to bed and I decided "if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em". I polished off a half bottle of vodka and got on Yahoo answers and gave advice in the relationships section that quite possibly (I don't know because I can't remember) may have caused a few suicides. All in all, a lovely Christmas. Cheers.

I enjoyed a great, comfortable day at home with husband and four mean dogs, tucked up in a warm house, watching t.v., pottering around, relaxing, chatting. We didn't over-eat, we didn't over-drink, and we weren't worrying about credit card bills coming in next month, because there won't be any. And if anybody thinks that sounds boring, we wont worry about that either.

Drove 20 miles to my parents house, drank wine, opened presents, picked up my sisters boyfriend at OHare, opened the rest of the presents. Ate prime rib, ham, lobster tails, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, peas, and rolls. Cheesecake for dessert. Drove home, unpacked, did laundry and went to bed.

Woke up, watched a few flicks, ate some good food, played some cards, received some spending cash, smoked a joint with my dad and his girlfriend and drove home. yup that was mine in a nutshell.
