A child with screaming tantrums. Mother at wit's end. Child screaming. Dad escapes to pub. Child screaming. After 5 minutes, I was screaming.

Your German says that 'you doubt my intellect'. That's a little harsh, isn't it? Sie sind ein arschloch.

As someone with Autism, I watched as much as I could before I had to go to work. Loved every second of it. Brought back a lot of memories for me of school, not to mention how animals can get through when people can't.
Not surprised many people turned off after 5-10 minutes. Typical neurotypical reaction. For the neurodiverse community, I expect it was something of an absorbing drama that really didn't pull it's punches. Especially liked the part when the woman said: "Appalling behaviour" and the mother turned and said "You mean people staring at a handicapped child? Yes, isn't it?"
Also, if you understood one tiny bit of Autism, you'd realise WHY the child was screaming. Because he's a kid, and processes the world differently, the only way he can protest about stuff he doesn't want to do, or doesn't understand is to have a "tantrum". Although I think many in the neurodiverse community prefer to call it an Autistic Rage. I do, because the words create the pictures in my mind that exactly match how I feel when I fall into one of these Rages. But then, it wasn't spelt out in neon lights in the show, so wouldn't expect neurotypicals to understand...
Was also glad they covered one of the more uncomfortable aspects of Autism, the kid banging his head against the pavement. Happens a lot in Autistic children.

i know its a true story and some poor family has had to deal with a child with this nature, but i must admit i put it on to watch, then promptly turned it off as all i could hear was the child having tantrums. i have 2 kids at home that had just gone to bed i was enjoying the peace!!

No. It was fantastic, and a brilliant, REALISTIC depiction. I cried so much watching it, and I can't understand why you simply turned off because Kyle was screaming. You try living with it for 14 years, then you will understand WHY he was screaming. You should have watched it through, it was a brilliant drama, even if you didn't have a clue about autism.
