My friend tried to help out; but she cleaned carpet stains with dishsoap. Now I'm unable to get the soap out!

don't use any soap or detergent. just use water to clean out the soap from your carpet. You may have to go over it a few times or until you're satisfied.

dish soap was meant for dishes. carpet cleaning soap was meant for carpets. Tell your friend that..lol
