You have the oportunity of a lifetime, not very many kids have the chance to realy make a difference in others. Take advantage of your popularity and tell your friends that what you are doing is wrong, and turn things around.
What about being nice? tell them to buy may be some cookies or chocolate and give them away to the same kids you've being mean to. and let me promise you something; You will be still more popular. What is the point about being mean, anyway?
If you follow my advise, more and more people will like you. Be wise. God Bless.

Singles just don't understand what it's like to have kids. Yes, your friends will not go out with you as much; the kids require a LOT of attention and energy, more than you can imagine, and of course they won't want you getting drunk at a kid's birthday party. In fact, you should not accept those invitations if you feel the need to get drunk there and make an a** of yourself. You shouldn't have to convince anyone that you don't want kids right now, that's your choice. There is a certain kind of closeness you can have with parents of other children the same age as yours, and it's nice to be able to share that with your friends. But if you need friends to party with, then go out partying or wherever and strike up conversations with people you think might be good friend material. It's hard to make new friends but it sounds like that's what you need to do. Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to just be honest with your friends with kids: you need to give them space but also say that you would like, even if it's just once in a long while, to go out and have fun the way you used to. That way you might have a chance of keeping these friends, in the long term at least.

Being "popular" doesn't give someone the right to bully other people. Trust me, I've been bullied before and have seen my friends bullied all my life, and it's not fun to be on the receiving end. "Popular" kids are often hated by most of their schoolmates and in fact are not "popular" if they bully other people. Your friends are obviously insecure and are trying to make themselves feel better by putting other people down. YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT! Don't just follow the crowd when you know they're wrong. Try talking to your friends about this. If they brush you off, ditch them and find some real friends who care about what you have to say. Who knows? Maybe you could end up becoming best friends with some of the kids you've bullied and maybe you'll be happier. Hope this helps! Good luck.

I hope you do what you already know is the better thing to do.
You would not be asking this question if you didn't already know what would make you feel better.
If you want a way out, perhaps you could find a way to meet with the kids you and your friends are mean to in private. Let them know something that, if they choose, they can do that will show your friends they are actually rather cool. If you can find a way to do this, you'll end up with much better friends and you'll likely gain the support and favor of the teachers, parents, and your friends all at the same time. It pays to have friends in high places! :-)

It is good that you are worried about this. It shows you have a conscience.
Do not make fun of other people. You have no right to do that and you know it really hurts people. Teasing from strangers cause some kids to take their own lives. You don't want to be a part of someone's pain. If your friends think you are lame because you are not playing along, they aren't worth your friendship because they are just mean.

sounds like maybe you are a bit ahead of your friends in growing up and wanting to stop making fun of people you dont' know. You should be honest with yourself and make a stand with your "friends". Quite possibly you may need to make new freinds with values common to ones you want to develop in yourself. Wouldn't it be surprising to find friends among those you have formely made fun of. Don't jude a book by it's cover!!! It is really not fair to judge others you don't know for exactly that reason. You don't know them. You are on the right path with wanting to change your behaviors. Stick with it.

by you treating them mean, you are actually taking yourself much lower than the people you are picking ever will be
glad to see you are seeing the error of your ways
i was/ am still very popular because i never picked on or was picked on by anybody, i was a jock, took 3rd in the nation in wrestling yet i was very humble and was never arrogant to anybody, and always stuck up for the less fortunate and yet to this day some 25 yrs later people remember me for that
unlike your group, the people you are picking on today, will always remember you too for all of the negative you have done

The answer is no you don't go along with it.. When they do put others down, you just don't do it. If they ask you why you don't, just say that is old hat (that is just an old time way of saying that it is no longer the in thing to say or do.)
If they ask you what the in thing to do is, you say, "finding something good to say to someone or to do for someone." Tell them, "anyone can put someone down but that it takes guts (intestinal fortitude) to lift people up and not put them down and that I believe I have it."

You're a weak person. Running down others to bring yourself up is the act of a truly empty and pathetic person.
Stand up for yourself and stop picking on others. Stop your friends from doing it too. If they turn on you they were never your friends and you're better off without them.
Trust me, in the long run you'll be glad you did.
