Talk to your landlord and explain the situation. You may not be able to get out of the lease but they may be able to help you on compassionate grounds.

Many lease contain a clause where leasees are not requied to complete the full term of the lease. More common ones are purchase of a house. I suggest look over your lease and see what it says about medical emergencies for the immediate family.
Even if it doesn't say anything, you should call your landlord or the apartment management (speak with their manager with authority to make changes if necessary). I'd be very surprised if they won't make some concessions for you.
Leagally, they are not required to do anything if it doesn't say so in the lease, and they isn't a law requiring them to do something. But, emergencies happen, and many of them are understanding of it, if you approach them with first, and with valid reason and level-headed discussion first.

From a legal perspective, you may not be able to get out of it. Despite the very unfortunate circumstances, it will still be a "termination of convenience" from the perspective of the lease agreement, which will carry financial penalties up to and including the requirement to make all remaining payments.
Start by talking to your landlord about the situation; perhaps they will be compassionate and agree to try to fill the vacancy as soon as you move out and forgive any remaining amounts due.

explain this to your land lord , they should let you out of the lease even tho you are still responsible, they should give you a break, just be sure to have proof of your emergency, then if they sue you take your evidence to court, I can't imagine any judge ruling against you, as what you are doing is very commendable,

you choose to move and care for him. if you die you would be allowed to get out of the lease in two months. so now we are really talking about three months....make a deal with the landlord
