Since Christmas is actually based on a pagan holiday, I find celebrating the birth of a man who thought he was the son of a god quite silly.
I celebrated peace, love, and family. And yes, a bit of consumerism.

I'm not religious so I didn't celebrate the birth of christ and i hate the way christmas has become so commercialised. It should be about family and fun not greed and profit. But wait worse is yet to come. April 17th 2007 is THREE AND A HALF MONTHS AWAY but easter eggs are already on the shelves!!!

hi,
i celebrated a bit of both because i went to church on christmas eve, but i also buy present so by default i also celebrated consumerism,
for me christmas has lost all meaning anyway because the shops and supermarkets start it all far to early ( late september, early october) which i think there should be a law passed that makes them stop it till the start of december,
lets claw back the actual meaning of christmas.
god bless, merry christmas and happy new year when it comes

It is sad that so many people forget why we have Christmas. We celebrate the birth of our Savior "Jesus Christ our Lord". Thank you for asking and I hope it wakes up some people. God bless you and have a Blessed and Happy New Year.
