How can people stand to listen to it? I know everyones entitled to their own opinion but it seems that people just like it so theyll look cool. Am I right?

I don't listen to rap or hip hop. But a lot of the music I do listen to, you probably would consider crap also. Someone said "To each their own". I totally agree. We all have our own tastes. My daughter's happens to be rap and hip hop. Mine happens to be rock/alternative/punk/etc.
Open your mind and your ears. You may find something you do like. No matter what it is labeled. I have heard hip hop songs that aren't bad at all. My daughter recently bought the MCR album and has found that she loves Linkin Park. We both try to be open minded.

I agree with you, but I will say that not all of it bad, give or take the lyrics being presented. The genre of rap was originally intended for awareness, now it is just so mainstream it got out of hand, this is just my opinion. I mean I like Fort Minor, but give me the old school like House of Pain or Sugarhill Gang.

That's simple really either they like it or they have nothing else better to listen to. I am a fan of rock music but lately it seems to have died. To me their really isn't much good music anymore rock ,hip hop, or rap.Yes most of them do it to be cool or fit in. You know?

hey now. If you're speaking of any genre of mainstream music, then yes, it is stupid, doesn't sound good, isn't original, and the people probably just want to be cool. But if you dig a little deeper you will see that rap can be a very creative, progressive, and expressive genre of music.

its all a matter of choice man. so people do enjoy it i know its hard to believe and some people do just listen to it because its the cool thing to do. oh well nothing you can do to change it if you dont like it dont listen to it and let the little drones listen to whatever crap they want.

no your not right, i think the same about country but I wouldnt be stupid enough to call it crappy just because I dont like it. And yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion, unfortunately

Well they like it for the same reason white ppl like Metal. It sings about their lives and they can relate to the music.
