Middle school is a tough world. You are caught between being a little kid and a big kid. You aren't even a tween yet!!! Tell your little cousin to just be herself, to not get hooked up with the wrong people just because they may be "cool" on the outside appearance, and to choose her friends because they have things in common with her. Middle School can be a very lonely place for those who don't fit in and a worse place for those who want to fit in. Too many casualties of drug and alcohol use in middle school. Tell your cous to get involved in a club or group, something of interest and stay away from the trouble makers. She will know who they are pretty quickly. Best of luck to her, and you. Good job for caring enough about her to ask for help. Nana

Study, work hard, get good grades, don't spread rumors, if a rumor is spread about you ignore it, and avoid peer pressure
