My cat shut off the surge protector attached to my computer, and now, nothing turns on. The Light in the back still flashes, so i had thought, theres still hope.

I checked all of the outlets, plug ins, nothing. I went to the HP website, did all of the little steps that they tell you to do for this sort of thing, still nothing.

Obviously, i think something needs to be replaced, or fixed.

Whats my next step?
(I'm in Minnesota, and i have a HP a450n)

Classic power supply failure.

Power supplies start at $35 for desktop computers. It's an easy repair.

Try the power supply(transformer). They are not very reliable and are prone to failure. If you feel up to it get a test procedure, and use a volt meter to test the outputs. They are pretty cheep and easy to replace.

appears like a foul deploy or a BIOS placing is inaccurate. are you in a position as properly in risk-free mode ( carry F8 at start to get into BIOS settings)? attempt beginning the laptop with the OS disc interior of thepersistent and if it starts up, decide on (R) restoration to repair the deploy and notice if that works.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
