Go to www.prudentialpreferredrealty.com. Enter in the area, kind of home, amount, and this site will give all of the listings from the multi-list realtors in your search area.
You have been watching those "no money down" schemes. Where the seller "takes back a second". Not a good idea. You then have to make two mortgage payments; one to the bank and one to the seller.
Always remember, you cannot get something for nothing.

You should check Realtor.com
If you have questions about a neighborhood city-data.com has a forum where you can find information from people who actually lives there.
You can also look up forsalebyowner.com
Trying to find a house without a realtor will save you some money. You could try driving the area where you want to live and find a house for sale by owner .
People offering to pay for it...You must be thinking about the owner will carry option. The owner will loan you the money instead of a bank or mortgage .

Try http://www.move.com. That is the new website for homebuilder.com. I use this website to check out new homes - both for move-in ready homes and homes that are just about to be built. You can filter your search by zip code, range, city, etc. You can also try www.newhomesource.com. Another website to find new communities that is being built in your area.

www.Realtor.com is a good one, or go to any of the big realtors websites like Century 21, Remax, Prudential, etc. Do an internet search of what realtors are in the area you want to be and go to their respective site. Good Luck.

Try a foreclosure. Once it is in the banks possession you can usually get a good deal on it and they will provide the financing.

Yahoo real estate and MSN real estate seem to be easy to use search engines in my opinion.
