I think Eric Mangini deserves it more than Sean Payton. Hear me out.
The Saints play in the lowly NFC. Does anyone know the last time the NFC won the Superbowl? The Rams, in 2000. Six years ago!
Secondly: The saints were always a good team. They just had a very awful, extremely inconsistent quarterback. Now they have Drew Brees (excellent field commander), and Reggie Bush, both good with the ball and an excellent decoy when without.
Now, for the Jets? They were counted out all year, especially in the AFC. And they're doing this WITHOUT Curtis Martin.
Look at the Titans - they come over to the NFC and start running wild. I'm an Eagles fan, but I have to say that they too are lucky solely because of what conference they play in.
That being said, Payton will probably win it, because of the emotional factor.

I think it should be Sean Payton. Look back last year at the Saints and now look at them. This Coach has given the players a reason to want to play with a winning attitude, and also given the people in New Orleans something GREAT to cheer for. Believe it or not, but the majority of the people in New Orleans only came back to because of the Saints. That says alot about the team as well as the Coach!! Coach Sean Payton, Coach of the Year!!!

Magini is a good coach but Payton definatly deserves it. There isn't even a question. The Saints were 3-13 last season and this season are being talked of the best team in the NFC. So it's definatly Payton.

Sean Payton. Prior to this season, the Saints were in an abyss for numerous reasons, and they'll be in the playoffs as the #2 seed in the NFC. Eric Mangini would be my runner-up, while Andy Reid, Jeff Fisher, Lovie Smith, and Marty Schottenheimer all merit some consideration.

Mangini is deserving, but he won't beat out Payton. The NFL will use the feel good story of New Orleans success to its benefiit as often as possible. Not that Payton doesn't deserve it considering the Saints have become known as underacheivers. But the big change there was getting Brees in and getting Brooks out.

I think it will be Mangini. He is the youngest head coach in the history of the NFL, and his team is on the verge of a playoff spot after some miserable seasons. 'Nuff said.
