I need to buy winter tires. The manual calls for 195/70 SR 14 M+S tires.
Would 195/70 R 14 tires fit? or do I need to know more? A tire vendor tells me there is 11.5 mm between the first and third bolt on his tires and his 195/70 R 14 tires may not fit my wheel. Does anyone have an answer?
Thank you

195/70SR14 is an outdated sizing method but in terms of size this is identical to a modern "P195/70R14 90S" (P-Metric sizing common in the U.S.) or a "195/70R14 91S" (Euro-Metric size). You will have no problems installing either a P-metric or Euro-metric tire of this size on your rims.

On this bolt issue though, it sounds like your talking about wheels, not tires. Remember, the tires are the squishy black rubber things. They don't take kindly to bolts. Without more information I can't help you there.

SR just means steel belted radial.

if the tire size is the same, they will fit on your rims.
The wheel/rim on the other hand, will not fit on your car.
