Who benefits from it? Unless it is very, very, very, very strongly scented (like moist from all the scent), it does not one lick of good. Is your thumb supposed to notice the scent when you wipe?

I just ran across a bin of "Holiday Scents" t.p. in the after Christmas reduced area at the market. If it's "Holiday Scents" does that mean that it should smell like my holidays? So do you think they smell like digested pumpkin pie, liqour, anti-depressants, and sadness?

Scented toilet paper tends to make people feel cleaner(not that they necessarily are, though).

The toilet paper is scented for the purpose of covering up the smell of feces, especially for the people that throw the paper in trash cans instead of flushing it.

It's a marketing gimmick.
How else can a maker of toilet paper sell more of their brand of this stuff.

They need to keep the gimmicks coming.

This one does have a nice side-effect benefit, as it imparts a subtle (usually) pleasurable scent, acting as a room deodorizer.

Now, as long as you don't get an allergic rash from this -- how could it be wrong.

Stack up on that price-reduced Christmas stuff so you can extend your ho, ho, ho season.

Its meant to improve or cover up the smells in the bathroom BEFORE it is used.

Actually its just a clever (or not so clever) marketing gimmick.

It's not for your thumb babe......

Perhaps someone whose mouth might be busy in that area may have his/her nose near your....wipable area.

That's who it's for.

Of course, if you never want anyone to have their mouth in that area, scented toilet paper mayhave no point for you.
