The same reason people give you directions when they have no clue were it is. The "think" they know everything or 'have" to know everything. I think on Y!A the 2 points may play alot into it also.

One reason would be: to be part of the conversation. If I post something, and you read it, I am somehow more real in this virtual environment. Hopefully most of them will figure out fairly quickly that there are so many questions around here, they can respond *and* say something useful.
