Well, "of" usually means multipy, so

if K is a variable, them you would do:
20% x 30K
(20% = .2) --> .2 x 30K
which is 6K

if 30K is 30,000, then do:

20% x 30,000 =
.2 x 30,000 =
6,000

the word "of" means multiplication. So you can post it a few ways:

1) 20% x 30K

2) .20 x 30K

But I'm assuming you are talking about 30,000 and the "K" is not a variable.

Therefore your answer is 6000
