Good Rock is Buckcherry, Off Spring, Puddle of Mudd, Blink 182, Tool, Stained, and Hinder

Good R&B and Rap is Ludacris, Akon, 50 Cent, Eminem, Cherrish, Timberland, and Pharell
And God for Classic Rock....its all good. Cheap Trick, Jethro Tull, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyed, CCR, Squeeze and MANY MANY MORE!!

Music is a very personal choice and it largely depends on what you like and dislike. No one else can tell you what you should enjoy the most. I would go to your local library. Many larger libraries have extensive CD collections which they can loan to you for free. You can listen to a variety of genres and choose which ones you like the best. Another source of music is Pandora which is a completely free service on-line with no pop-ups, commercials, software or hassles. You can enter an artist or genre and it will automatically select tunes and play them like a radio station on your computer.

I personally enjoy classic rock like the Beatles or Billy Joel because it has broad appeal and I can listen to it at work without offending people of various ages and backgrounds. At home when it's just me, I enjoy heavy metal and alternative rock like King's X, the 77's or Led Zeppelin. However you will have to choose these things for yourself after sampling a lot of them... Good luck with that!

Classic rock includes some of the easiest to listen to music and the most skillful guitar players in history. Some great recomended bands are The Beatles, Cream, The Yardbirds, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, JImi Hendrix, and Queen.

I have found that Yahoo Music is the answer to all of my own music genre issues. Yahoo Music allows you to rate music based on your own musical tastes, and allows you to be the programmer of your own station, so to speak. The more you rate music, the better the system becomes at choosing music that you might actually want to listen to.

I like many different types of music. My tastes range anywhere from adult alternative to 70's pop and country. Yahoo Music looks at the way I rate specific songs and artists and chooses some newer music (and older, too) to play.

Not one commercial radio station can do what Yahoo Music does for me. If I hate a song, I just tell it to never play it again, and it never will.

I would never tell someone to try one music genre over another. Music is very subjective. Yahoo Music allows me to like what I like, and customize it to my very own moods.

Seriously, give it a try.

Indie.

Listen to The Hush Sound.

(If not, try alternative like The Fray or Panic! At The Disco, modern/mainstream rock like Taking Back Sunday, pop such as Hellogoodbye or Kelly Clarkson, pop-punk like Fall Out Boy or The All-American Rejects- eventually you'll find something that's right for you.)

Indie is good, if you're looking for something different.

Listen to this song: "Ice Cream" by Young Pony Club.

Or to the bands The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Louis XIV.
