Taking lecithin can help if you are having problems with plugged ducts.

There are no supplements that help with milk letdown that I am aware of. Milk letdown is caused by a release of hormones in response to your baby.

To prevent mastitis/breast infections, make sure you are nursing frequently and taking good care of your body. If you DO begin to develop mastitis, take mega doses of vitamin C, push fluids, REST, NURSE a lot and chop raw garlic cloves into pill-sized pieces and swallow them.

Fenugreek is a good supplement for milk production. For sore engorged breasts you can put cabbage leaves on, it really works! Letting breast milk dry on your nipples will help to heal them in the first couple of weeks and toughen them up. Just looking at your baby or pictures of babies or the sound of crying should be enough to make you let down. Hope that helps!

There is a tea called "mother's milk" that helped me when I was breastfeeding. You should be able to get it at your local health food store. Also V8 helps aid in breastfeeding as well. Don't ask me why but it does. Good luck!

Fenugreek works wonders.
If you have clogged ducts though, see your dr. But if you want to increase your supply Fenugreek is the best thing to take.. You can get it at GNC.

consult your dr, you have to be careful with that. Anything you have will be transfered to the milk and to you child. Also why many women refuse to start up smoking while breast feeding.

i have been told to keep taking prenatal vitamins....it makes sense, if it was good to take while the baby was growing inside of you, whats would change it being just as good for your breastmilk that the baby will feed on!?!?!
