I think your question is extremely interesting for several reasons. Yes, the Saints are a much improved team. Reggie Bush has given them a running game that they haven't had in years.
I spent two month in New Orleans right after Katrina hit doing what I could to help. The one thing I learned while I was there was the courage and faith these people had in themselves and in their city. In my heart I believe God had something to do with the Saints as well. He gave the people something to rally around and gave them focus. The Saints at the very least have given the residents and fans something to smile about if only for a few hours each week. That can only be for the better good of the city.
The Saints are a legitimate playoff team and with a little luck could actually play in the NFC championship game. Right now I have it down to three teams, Bears, Saints and Eagles. Whatever happens the playoffs should be great!

they are very legitimate. A natural disaster like Katrina can't make anyone lucky. Think about last year when the Saints were a bad team, right after the hurricane. This year, they brought in new personnel. A new coach, Drew Brees as the quarterback, Reggie Bush as the running back. Those are also reasons the team has gotten better. The hurricane is their emotional inspiration to be better, but by no means does it make them lucky.

I believe they are good in the NFC. But look the got pretty much destroyed by two AFC teams Steelers & Bengals two teams that might not make the playoffs. The Steelers won't make the playoffs and the Bengals are still on the verge. They could easily beat the Cowboys, Seahawks, Bears, and other NFC playoff team but I don't think they stand a chance against ANY AFC opponet such as San Diego, Indy, Baltimore, New England, or any of the teams still in the hunt.

It's no luck...well maybe a little, but they are legitimately good because of the new coach Sean Peyton and the all new line up (Brees, Bush, Coulson, ect.). Most of the old Saints players are gone including the crappy quarterback Aaron "Dumbass" Brooks. I think Katrina may have motivated them to do good, but I think they have talent, and a killer offense.

well i believe that the saints are genuinely a good team and have gotten lucky at the same time i mean think about it the dolphins passed up on drew brees in favor of daunte culpepper and then the texans passed up on reggie bush in favor of mario williams and those two moves alone have helped the saints out tremendously and playing in the nfc always helps as well lmmfao

2legit2quit. brees is totally underrated. he is a great qb, he just didn't have any wr's in SD, martyball sucks, and his protection was questionable. also, deuce mccallister is healthy for the first time in 3 seasons, and if he goes down, they have bush as a backup. marquis colston is brilliant and a 6th (or was it 4th?) round steal.
and then, there's the defense. scott fujita is an underrated LB because of his size, but his speed, smarts and tackling ability more than make up for it.
and then there's the coaching. sean payton learned well from him padwan.
the only thing that will stop them is playoff experience. i don't think any of the people mentioned above knows what it takes to win in the playoffs.

since when do hurricanes hand out luck?
they're a good team cause they have good players and good coaches so legitimates more likely than lucky.

You're missing the third factor: the NFC is terrible and no one wants to get into the playoffs.
However, the Saints are legit. If they weren't, they'd have tailed off back in November.

Luck does'nt go far in the NFL, you have to be good to win and they are winning. The luck was the dumb **** Texans not drafting Bush. Plus I've been impressed with Paytin as head coach and there offense is talented, especially on turf.

I think the Saintsthey are difinetely a good team.
And I like your answer to my question. Carrie Underwood was not a half-time performer at yesterday's game. She was on Thanksgiving day, and he invited her to the game yesterday. Did you see them posing for pictures before the game yesterday? He should leave all that til after the season is over.
