There's no longer a minimum or maximum height restriction to be a fireman but you do have to pass 'functional' height tests to make sure you can reach the equipment OK.

To join the Fire Service there are certain physical, medical and educational requirements you will have to satisfy, including statutory age limits.

You will have to:
- be aged over 18
- have good eyesight without contact lenses or glasses
- have a good level of all-round fitness
- take both general written and practical tests

There are no current height restrictions on becoming a firefighter in the UK.

However, you will need to be tall enough to carry out certain parts of the tests. i.e. putting the ladder back on the appliance.

Get yourself an application form from the fire service and see what it says on that about height, good luck.
