These ships are specifically designed to fold into a long, slender "stick" (sort of) that is easily inserted into the bottle. Once inside the bottle, pulling on the folded ship causes it to expand into the actual ship that you see on the "ship in a bottles."

I'm not really sure but i herd that you take a paper ship the is flattened put it in a make sure there is a string attached then pull the string(that's what i herd so i am not sure if it works)
