He burned the living crap out of it. This happened Friday afternoon and he refuses to go to the dr. I have put dermaplast spray and burn jel on it. It looks a little better actually, than it did. Is there anything we can do now? Why are men so thick headed!!!

Not all man are, anyway what he was to prove himself to be a macho, FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE. HE IS DANGER TO HIMSELF AND TO YOU TOO. He needs love and care from you, you are the only person who can handle him. Best of wishes.

1) Wash wound with gentle soap or baking soda and water.
2) Wash wound with a MILD Acid like vinegar. This will react with any particles left. It may burn like heck, but people fail to properly wash out chemical burns and the most damage is done after the fact.
3) Dry thoroughly, and treat it just as you would a burn-use burn gel, replace bandages often, etc.
4) Once the burn is comfortable, and isn't as gross, use TONS of neosporin and/or scar reduction ointment...as this is going to leave a scar.

Well, He should have seen a doctor as soon as possible to get the wound irrigated. Sometimes it will burn the skin, and the skin might not come off, so they will scrub it down while pouring saline on it.
As long as the chemical is washed off, your best bet is to watch it for infection. If theres anymore swelling, pain, warmth coming off the leg, if it oozes, then he should immediately see a doctor to get started on some antibiotics. Keep It EXTREMELY clean.

The procedure would be to thoroughly wash with soap and warm water and apply the ointment after, which you did. Keep an eye on it and if you see it becoming worse, get him to the doctors.
He's bull headed because he thinks he's invincible and thinks a sissy is the only one to visit a doctor. Sucks to be him because issues like this can haunt him later.

somtimes baking soda mixed w/ water helps. i spilled muratic acid on my hand and the baking soda helped.
